Start with the room
Think about where the fitting will hang, how high the ceiling is and what sits underneath it. Over a dining table the fitting should be narrower than the table and hang clear of heads. In an entry or stairwell it needs room to hang low enough to be seen without being in the way. Compare the diameter, height and the adjustable chain or cable length on the exact product page.
Check the fitting before ordering
Check the bulb base (E27, E14 or G9), the maximum wattage per bulb, the voltage, the canopy size and the weight. Chandeliers are hardwired fittings, so in Australia a licensed electrician installs them, and the fixing point in the ceiling has to carry the weight. Ask the team if a detail you need is missing.
